Hour 0 holds your working documents, your meeting transcripts and the decisions you have recorded. This page says plainly what is stored, where it sits, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it.
Who we are
Hour 0 is a business-analyst copilot, run as a small independent product. For anything on this page — a question, a correction, a deletion request — write to team@hour-0.com. A person reads it.
What Hour 0 stores
Three kinds of thing:
- Your account: the email address you signed up with and a hashed version of your password. The password itself is never stored in readable form.
- Your project content: documents you upload, notes you write, meeting transcripts, meeting prep, saved items, reminders, generated BRDs and your chat history with the assistant.
- Derived data: your documents split into passages, each with a numeric vector used to find the relevant passage when you ask a question.
There is no analytics tracker, no advertising pixel and no third-party session recorder on this site.
Where it is stored
Your projects live in a Postgres database hosted by Railway in Amsterdam, Netherlands (EU). The application that serves Hour 0 runs in the same region.
Data at rest therefore stays in the European Union. Two of the processors below — Anthropic and Google — are outside the EU and receive data in transit when you use the features that call them.
Who else processes your data
These are every third party that touches it, and the job each one does:
| Processor | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Railway | Application hosting and the Postgres database where your projects are stored | Amsterdam, Netherlands (EU) |
| Anthropic | The AI model that answers your questions and drafts documents. Receives the text it needs as context; does not use it for training | Outside the EU |
| Resend | Sends the emails Hour 0 has to send — email verification and password resets. Receives your email address and the contents of those messages; never your project content | Ireland (EU) |
| Cloudflare | DNS for hour-0.com. Resolves the domain; does not receive your project content | Global network |
| Browser speech recognition, used only while you have the live microphone running in Whisper. Audio is sent to Google's speech recognition service | Outside the EU |
What is sent to Anthropic
When you ask a question, request meeting prep or generate a BRD, Hour 0 sends the relevant text from your project — passages from your documents, notes and transcripts — to Anthropic as the context the model needs to answer. This is what makes the answer specific to your project rather than generic.
That text is used to produce your answer and nothing else. It is not used to train models.
Anthropic deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days. Hour 0 does not have a zero-data-retention agreement in place, so that 30-day window is the retention that applies.
The numeric vectors used for search are computed on Hour 0’s own server by a model that runs locally. Your document text is never sent anywhere for that step.
The live microphone
Whisper can transcribe a meeting as it happens. When you start the microphone, Hour 0 uses your browser’s built-in speech recognition, which in Chrome and Edge means your audio is sent to Google’s speech recognition service and returned as text.
This happens only while you have the microphone running, and only because you started it. If you would rather no audio left your machine at all, paste a transcript instead — every downstream feature works identically either way.
Marketing email
If you tick the box at signup, Hour 0 may email you product updates and the occasional offer. The box is unticked by default. Consent is optional, and nothing about Hour 0 works differently without it.
Every one of those emails carries an unsubscribe link that works in a single click, without signing in. It takes effect immediately, and it is the same for everyone — there is no “are you sure”.
Hour 0 records the moment consent was given and the moment it was withdrawn. That record is what makes it possible to show the consent was real, and it is kept for no other purpose.
Marketing email goes only to addresses that have been verified by clicking the link in the confirmation email — so an address typed by mistake can never be marketed to. Email about your own account, such as a password reset, is not marketing and is sent whether or not you have opted in.
Deleting your data
Deleting a project deletes what belongs to it: its documents, transcripts, notes, reminders, chat history, saved items, meeting prep and generated BRDs, along with the passages and vectors derived from them. It is a real delete, not a hidden flag.
To delete your entire account, open Settings and use Delete account. You type your email address to confirm, and every project you own goes with it, along with your settings, your digests and anything generated from your work. It happens immediately, without asking anyone, and it cannot be undone.
Backups are the one exception, and it would be dishonest not to say so: a backup taken before you deleted still holds a copy until it ages out, which is up to sixteen months for the oldest monthly copy. Nothing is restored from a backup except to recover the service itself.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to ask what is held about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to receive a copy in a portable form. Any generated document can already be exported to Word from inside the app; for anything beyond that, email the address above and it will be handled.
Changes to this page
Hour 0 is in early access and its infrastructure may change. If a change affects where your data is held or who processes it, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
